I hate to see your hurting face...

So the hubby took me out for dinner last night, we went to the Indian Ocean in Ashton. Now this place has won thousands of awards, is in the top 30 curry houses in the UK and according to its own publicity is "in a class of its own".

The last part is true. It was terrible, truly awful. It started off well enough, with being shown to the lounge to get a drink whilst we waited for our table. In the bar they had a lounge singer who wasnt awful. We were shown to our table about 30 mins late, we surveyed the menu, looks lovely. So I ordered a mix veggie started followed by the house speciality Chilli Panner which has a 4 chillis out of 5 rating. The hubby had fish lahore followed by chicken chilli masala, also with a 4 outs of 5 chilli rating.

Starters were lovely, really lovely. Tried to order more drink, failed, tried again, got a waiter to take the order. Then we waited. 20 Mins later drinks arrive, wrong. Corrected within seconds. waiting for main course, waiting and waiting. 45 mins later, after several diners who arrived after us has finished, paid and laft, our food arrives. Mine has no heat in it what so ever. None, Nada, ZIP! The hubbys sauce is wonderfully hot and spicy. His dish is OK he says. Mine is frankly shit. Lots of cheese (bonus) but a few sliced peppers and a lot of onions. I could make this at home, for a £12 price tag its horrific.

So we ate, I was so hungry and it was late I didnt want to make a fuss. Finally a waiter comes over. "How was your food?" I say OK, he looks shocked and goes "Why?" So I tell him, he goes "Well everyone waits 45 mins for their mains" Liar! I don't mind waiting but I should have been told. He mumbles an insincere apology and goes away. 10mins later we get someones eye to get the bill, its wrong, stuffs missing. We pay we leave.

Dont EVER go here. Its awful, truly shit. I will be writing to them. If you live in Manchester, go to Rusholme, its better value and much better quality.
